Do I need a reservation to dine at Chanterelle Bistro?
Reservations are highly recommended for any day of the week. While our seating capacity is large, we intentionally limit reservations at certain times to provide a relaxed and attentive dining experience for everyone. We do our best to accommodate walk-in guests when possible, but availability can be limited during peak hours. Booking a reservation in advance helps guarantee you a table, your preferred dining time and allows our team to prepare for your visit.
Reservations can be made through email or by calling us. Email is recommended for future reservations, and calling is recommended for last minute inquiries.
Planning ahead also gives us the opportunity to note any dietary preferences or special requests, ensuring your experience is seamless from the moment you arrive.
Can Chanterelle Bistro accommodate dietary restrictions or allergies?

We regularly welcome guests with gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-related needs, including severe sensitivities. We kindly request that you inform us of any restrictions when making your reservation or as soon as you arrive, so we can take the necessary precautions. What is your private event and catering capacity?
We offer both on-site private dining and off-site catering for events throughout Bowmanville and the surrounding area.
On-site, we have several rooms of varying sizes that are well-suited for private gatherings such as family celebrations, milestone birthdays, anniversaries, or corporate dinners.

In many cases, our kitchen can also modify certain menu items to better suit dietary needs. We recommend mentioning your preferences when making your reservation or requesting guidance upon arrival, so our team can suggest suitable options. Our goal is to ensure that guests with dietary restrictions or sensitivities never feel limited or excluded. Yes. 98% of our menu is already gluten-free and most items that are not, can be easily modified. We also have several vegan options. These dishes are thoughtfully prepared to ensure they’re just as flavourful and refined as the rest of our offerings. Where can I park when visiting Chanterelle Bistro?
Chanterelle Bistro is conveniently located in downtown Bowmanville, close to local shops, attractions, and amenities. There is ample public parking available along Division Street and nearby side streets, as well as a municipal parking lot across the street within a short walking distance of the restaurant. Weekends and weekdays after 6:00pm are free.
During peak dining times, especially evenings and weekends, we recommend arriving a few minutes early to allow time to find parking comfortably.
Most guests find parking easy and accessible, but our team is always happy to assist with directions or recommendations if needed. If you’re unfamiliar with the area or have questions about parking options, please don't hesitate to contact us before your visit. We want your arrival to be as smooth and stress-free as the dining experience itself.
How far in advance should I book for catering or private events?
For catering services Chanterelle Bistro requires at least 7 days notice but would appreciate at least 2 weeks. This timeframe allows us to secure your preferred date, discuss menu options, and carefully plan event details. Since we are not a full-time catering company, we reserve the right to decline a catering inquiry if we are not able to accommodate.
For private events, availability is dependent on our current reservations at the time of your inquiry. To secure your preferred date, 1 month in advanced is recommended.
For Valentine's Day and surrounding weekends, New Year's Eve and Mother's Day weekend, at least 1 month's notice is recommended.
That said, last-minute inquiries are always welcome and will be accommodated when availability allows.
If you’re unsure about timing or event size, reaching out early gives us the best opportunity to assist. Our goal is to make planning your event as smooth and enjoyable as the celebration itself.
Is Chanterelle Bistro accessible for guests with mobility needs?
Yes. Our staff is happy to assist with entry, seating, or any special accommodations required during your visit. The Chanterelle Bistro main dining area is located at street level, and we have a small ramp we can put out to assist with the 6 inch step in our entryway.
We encourage guests to mention any specific requirements or mobility needs when making a reservation as we do also have an upstairs dining room.
